Last week Instagram announced in a blog post that they would be introducing a couple of major changes to their algorithms based on user feedback.
One of them ensures that upon logging in, users are likely to see photos that were just posted - No longer will you have to exclusively see posts that Instagram assumes you want to see! Also they'll be testing a "New Posts" button which will allow users to refresh their feed when they want to and not automatically which is great news. Tap the button and you’ll be taken to new posts at the top of feed — don’t tap, and you’ll stay where you are, which means newer posts are more likely to appear first in your feed which will now feel more fresh and current. More improvements are set to follow but for now we think these changes will make a huge improvement to help us connect with the people and interests that matter most to us.
